Working with distributors is vital to Green Merchant Directs’ strategy for growing brands, we spent 13 years selling for Island Natural Distributor (purchased by Nassau Candy Distribution). We believe this gives us a unique perspective when it comes to working with distributors to get your brand into the marketplace. How we work with Distributors

Green Merchant Direct has deep distributor relationships, which we utilize to get your brand a rapid start, in multiple retail locations, small or large, and very diverse channels.

Distributor Selection

We first want to decide the type of distribution that will work for your brand; for example, there are distributors with marketing fees or exclusivity contracts; these are not bad but might not be the right thing for your brand at the start. We will go through the process of selecting the best action plan for you in the beginning.

Anchor Distributors

The second thing we want is one or more anchor distributors to get your brand up and running; this will allow us to get a good idea of the potential sales for your brand and also gives you some early sales for peace of mind.

Supporting the Distributors

Distributors always like when your sales team provides them with accounts and leads for new accounts. Green Rep Exchange does this by focusing on the territory covered by the distributor and building business for your brand and the distributors who carry your brand.

Distributor Accounts

Distributors will gladly share their accounts list and allow Green Rep Exchange to sell to the accounts as long as we are putting the orders through them. This is a great way to accelerate the business with distributors and create significant sales collaboration.

Island Natural Distribution

Green Merchant Direct started its early sales career being an independent sink-or-swim commission-only sales rep for Island Natural Distribution (purchased by Nassau Candy Distribution), where only the strong survived. We did not only survive, we thrived for 13 years and had more sales than all the other independent reps combined.

We opened GNC nationally, CVS, OTG, Whole Foods Markets, a host of independent health food stores, The Lobby Shops, office buildings, coffee shops, restaurants, airports, food service accounts, colleges, and the list goes on and on and on. Those 13 years were the foundation for where we are now, and we would not trade them for anything.

Working through Island Natural, we were privileged to work with some of the brands that are household names today,. still, when we met them, they were not so big such as Kind Bars, Vitamin Water, Vita Coco, Traditional Medicinal, Kiss My Face, Toms Of Main, Cliff Bars, and much, much more.

We believe our early beginnings and the road we took to get here working in that sink-or-swim environment, working with so many brands in their infancy, has prepared us to handle both emerging and established eco-friendly brands, and to get them to the next level.
